- May 9, 2024, 8:30am, Huckleberry Rd, FS 73
Work includes jack straw C-level work. Chain saw and X-cut saw opportunities.
Directions:
Drive east from Enumclaw on SR 410 for 17 miles. When the speed limit drops, be ready to note your mileage as you cross the Greenwater River. From that bridge, travel 6.5 miles. Turn right on FR 73 and drive 1/3 mile to the trailhead parking lot on the right. There is a vault toilet here, and room for about 8 vehicles. We’ll meet there at 8:30, its less driving distance and time than to Corral Pass Rd.
Not certain that the restroom will be open yet. We’ll have a brief safety talk and sign-in. Then we’ll carpool and/or caravan up FR 73 and “log out from our vehicles”. No JB, that does not mean we’ll be sticking a chain saw out the car window.
We’ll drive straight at the Y in the Road. To the Right goes up to Suntop.
So, bring your X-cut and chain saws, lunch, drinks, etc and we’ll get some real logging practice.
